Q: Do I have to be a member to of Outlaw BBQ Association to compete

A: No, our events are open to the public. You can compete without a membership, but a membership ($20) is encouraged to be eligible to compete in our added money year end event as well as discounts with our partners


Q: Do I need to be certified to be a taste judge?

A: No, our judges are average folks from the street, that is what makes it so rewarding to win. In order to judge we recommend reaching out to the promoter and Outlaw Representative for the event you are interested in being a taste judge.


Q: Are pellet smokers allowed?

A: Yes, we allow pellet smokers, offset smokers as well as drum smokers. Gas Grills and electric heat sources are prohibited, see our rules for more details


Q: What does it take to host an event?

A: Hosting events is a great way to raise money for your group or organization. Contact a member of our board to learn more tonday!


Q: How much does it cost to compete?

A: Costs associated with competition BBQ will vary by team. Each promoter sets their own entry fees.
